The Child Trailer
Hi, my film 'The Child' has been stuck in post production for nearly 2 years. Yes you heard me correctly, nearly 2 years. We have had a lot of support with this film, but during post production the company supporting the final online edit went bust. For various reasons the film, which does have an off-line edit has just been stuck in getting the on-line edit complete. We are so close to releasing the film, and so far we have had a great response from test audiences viewing the offline edit. We need to hire the HD machine to transfer the footage and complete the final edit. 15 people including the crew and cast worked hard on this project, and believed in it. So much so that everyone committed with no wages. The least I can do in respect to their time and energy is to complete this great little film and give the life it deserves in the festivals.
If anyone is in a position to offer any support towards the completion of the film please do get in touch or comment on this blog. Spread the word, get people to come to this blog. Just a finger click of a button could make a difference. Thank you.

"The Child" was filmed on a freezing cold, deep snowy day in February. I drove to the shoot with a buckled door (snow flakes falling into the car) because my car had been broken into during the night....so the first job was to get the crew to help bend the door so that it would at least shut....from the beginning the whole enterprise was full of heart. Everyone gave their talent, time and belief to the film freely. It was teeth chatteringly cold but an utter joy from start to finish. The film deserves a life and to be out there. Thank you for your time
ReplyDeleteDo not give up! We have been through the worst financial crash of our lives. Even in good times it is not unusual for project delays. Keep fighting!

Have you tried calling post houses or even universities to see if they can let you use their kit as a favour?
ReplyDeleteYes, I have indeed, many of them don't seem to get any free downtime available and others just can't afford to help due to present situation in the industry. Certainly can't get any hire companies to help us with a DVCPRO HD machine so that we can do the transfers. Only a few companies actually house the HD machine. But really appreciate your comment and feedback. Any other suggestions would be gratefully received. Thanks for visiting the blog
